Hong Kong, and home

There is no need for getting a visa in Hong Kong it's a great layover. If I had another day or two I would have taken the train into the city. I haven't seen Hong Kong yet.

The Regal Airport Hotel is literally attached to the terminals and is a 5 minute walk from departures and arrivals, all indoors. I highly recommend it for stress free layovers. You can see the airport ramp out the window of my room.

That's the rig taking me home. A United 777-200. It's the first time I got a first class international flight on standby travel. Yep it was nice! I decided to take the Chicago bound flight instead of San Fransisco because it was the first flight out of HKG (rule #1) and because the SFO to Vegas flights were filling up.

My flight landed early (11:30AM) at Chicago so even with customs/immigration/agriculture and security checks I was able to make a 1 hour turn to a 12:30 Vegas connection, and I was home by 3:00 Vegas time on Monday. It's weird because I took off out of Hong Kong at 11:30AM Monday morning HKG time. I was home 30 hours after leaving Vietnam, including the HKG layover.
